Elimu Smart is an Education plan designed to guarantee payment continuity for a child’s school fees in the unfortunate event of death, permanent disability or critical illness of the parent(s) or guardian

How it works

Elimu Smart is a simple, flexible solution that allows you to select the number of years you would want the school fees cover for. It is renewable every year and the premium payable is calculated based on your child\’s current school fees. In the event that any of the defined risks occur, a lumpsum amount will be paid to you or your beneficiary.

1. Age Eligibility

• Minimum entry age of 18 years
• Maximum entry age of 55 years.
• The cover runs up to a maximum of 60 years.

2. Flexible Term

• The Policy Term can run up to a maximum of 5 Years

3. Sum Assured

• Minimum sum assured is Kes 50,000
• Maximum sum assured is Kes 3,000,000

1. Waiting Period

• 6 months waiting period for Critical Illness & Natural
  Death claims
• There is no waiting period for Permanent &Total
  Disability and accidental death

1. Premiums

• Premiums are payable annually only

Product Benefits

1. Death Benefits (Natural and Accidental)
   In the unfortunate event of your death as the policy owner caused by natural causes or as a result of an accident, Elimu Smart shall pay your named beneficiary the full sum assured.
2. Permanent Total Disability (Accident Only)
   In case you are permanently disabled as a result of injury or illness which leaves you unable to provide for your family, Elimu Smart shall pay you the full sum assured.
3. Specified Critical Illnesses
   In the event you are diagnosed with a specified critical illness, Elimu Smart will pay you the full sum assured.
   The following critical illnesses are covered:
   a) Cancer
   b) Heart attack
   c) Stroke
   d) Renal failure
   e) Open Heart Surgery
   f) Major Organ Transplant

g) Paraplegia
